Overview

Built in 1580 by Marquis de Graveson, the residence hosted within its luxurious dwelling the De Graveson and De Forbin families until the French Revolution when Madame Pierron founded her hotel in 1799 and named it, as her friend Napoléon Bonaparte's insisted on, as Hôtel d’Europe. Nowadays this magnificent 16th century residence with its prime location in the centre of Avignon, in the heart of Provence is proud to show ideal combination of history elements together with contemporary touches.

Being the only hotel from Avignon that appeared in the first Michelin Guide in 1900, the Hotel D Europe offers all the modern convenience and amenities. On the premises you will find seven naturally lit salons for up to 150 delegates and a John Stuart Mill Centre seminar centre with four salons, all equipped with overhead projector, slide projector, flip chart, screen, free Wi-Fi internet connection, TV and video recorder while fitness center can be found nearby.

The Hotel D Europe is just 20 minutes from Avignon-Caumont airport, 40 minutes from Nimes-Garons airport, one hour by motorway from the Marseille-Provence International Airport while it will take 10 minutes to get to the TGV train station and five minutes to the nearest train station in the city.

The Hotel D Europe invites you to choose between classic guestrooms smaller than the superior and prestige guestrooms with marble bathrooms and larger lounge area, junior suites with a superb terrace overlooking the Avignon, and the suites with overlook to the Palais des Papes. Each room is equipped as standard and features air conditioning, a mini-bar, satellite television, direct telephone with RJ45 jack for computers, hair dryer, free Wi-Fi connection and personal safe box.

Dining options

Awarded with a star, in the Michelin guide 2011 edition, famous and delicious La Vielle Fontaine restaurant at the on-site of the Hotel D Europe serves its well-known blue lobster, warm tails with rose honey, claws ravioli, fennel, emulsified rose water and is open for lunch Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm to 1.30pm and for dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Additionally, a selective menu of whisky and champagne, home-smoked salmon and foie gras are served at pleasant bar in the atmosphere of lovely music on evenings.
